About Christopher Benjamin

Born and raised in South Florida, Judge Benjamin served in the U.S. Army, earned his degree in political science from Florida Memorial University, and his J.D. from STU College of Law. After law school, he worked in the Case Management Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, ran his own firm, and served as an arbitrator, special magistrate, and traffic hearing officer in the traffic division of the Miami-Dade County Court. In 2020 (and 2022) , he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives and later joined International Law Partners as Of Counsel.

Judge Benjamin was also a distinguished mediator and arbitrator with the prestigious dispute resolution firm of Salmon & Dulberg and he's been listed on the panel of mediators and arbitrators for American Arbitration Association, FL Department of Financial Services and the Financial Industry Regulation Agency (FINRA).

He has served as president of Miami-Dade's Black Lawyers' Association (known as The Wilkie D. Fergson, Jr. Bar Association) and the Florida Muslim Bar Association. As a member of the Dade Bar Association, He chaired the Juvenile Committee, co-chaired the Solo/Small Firm Committee and vice chaired the Legal Aid & Office of Public Service Committee. He has represented dozens of indigent clients through Dade County Legalaid's Put Something Back Program.
